Memorial Day is a federal holiday where most people have a day off to go to the beach, travel, or get together with friends and family to barbecue. The fact is that there is a great deal of historical significance attached to this day. Memorial Day is a day that is for remembering those who died while serving their country in the United States armed forces. This day reminds us to remember that our freedom is truly not free. Many men and women have lost their lives to give the rest of us our rights and our freedom as an American citizen. Joseph Campbell said: “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” TLC laser Eye Centers, Dr. Holzman and his team want to thank all of our service men and women for protecting our country and our freedom. We would also like to thank the families of our United States armed forces service men and women as they too make a great sacrifices by not having their mom or dad at baseball games and not having their son’s and daughter’s home for holidays. Your sacrifice is not taken lightly on any day. Thank you for your service!
